Ghorepani Poonhill Trek is situated in the Foothills of Annapurna region with the viewpoint on Poon Hill offering the matchless paramount of trekking in Nepal. This Trek offers you most magnificent sceneries of mountains making you walk through attractive villages occupied by the Gurungs, dense rhododendron forests full of birds and deep sub-tropical valleys. Prize moment of this trek is when you climb Poon Hill and find one of the most spectacular views of mountains on Earth in the gloom of sunrise; this trek gives utmost satisfaction to the lovers of nature with its variety of beautiful landscapes.
Itinerary in Details
(All participants meet in Kathamndu)
| Day 01 | : | Drive or flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara – leisure day and trek preparations |
| Day 02 | : | After breakfast one and half-hours drive from Pokhara to Naya Pul crossing a bridge with 30 minutes walk reaching Birethanti the check post for trek. Start the 4 hour trek to Tirkhedhunga 1577m. |
| Day 03 | : | Tirkhedhunga to Ghorepani (2855m.): A steep ascension up to Ulleri and gradually extending up to Ghorepani taking about 7 hours. You will have to walk whole day through dense forest of Rhododendron, oak trees and bamboo grooves watching beautiful rhododendron and orchid flowers and most certainly will be able to enjoy the chipping birds and butterflies. |
| Day 04 | : | Ghorepani Poon hill to Tadapani (2540m.): Early morning (time depending on the month)hike to Poon Hill (3193m.) to view the beautiful sun rise and colorfulmountains; Mt. Annapurna South 7219m., Mt. Dhaulagiri 8167m., Tent Peak, Thapa Peak, Hiun Chuli 6441m., Annapurna III 7855m., Annapurna II 7937m., Annapurna - IV 7525 m, Mt. Lamjung 6931m., and many other peaks in Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges. After coming back to Ghorepani for breakfast we shall commence our 4 hours descending trek to Tadapani (2540m) where on the way you can enjoy the panoramic Mountain View and flora faunas on the trail. |
| Day 05 | : | Tadapani to Ghandrung (1951m.): This day is simply the short day downhill trekking all the way to Ghandrung a beautiful Gurung village with its rich culture and tradition. Most of the male from this village are the members of brave Gorkha Armies of Britian and India. The consistent view of various mountains peak is available here too! |
| Day 06 | : | Ghandrung to Nayapul and drive drive back to Pokhara |
| Day 07 | : | Drive of Flight back to Kathmandu to depart |
